Goodbye 2011, it was a year that flew by way too fast, and it was also the year that I truly felt overwhelmed by the amount of music available in all shapes and forms. This post highlights the albums & EPs that we’ve enjoyed the most over the past year, there’s a lot of albums that unfortunately didn’t get my full attention in 2011 (for example releases from the likes of Wu Lyf, Feist, St. Vincent & The Horrors), but that’s what dreary winter evenings in January will be used for; music catch up.
This year may have been my year of ‘too much music’, but there are still some albums & EPs that were on constant repeat and shoot to the top of the pile. Below is the list of our highlights of 2011 (in no particular order), contributed by myself, Chris and Peter. They will hopefully give you a helping hand in trawling through the massive pile of music released this year, and you might end up giving an album a chance and falling in love with something that you may have overlooked in 2011.

New tune from the English electro-disco boys, Friendly Fires. Definitely worth some of your time. New album, Pala, out in a week or so. You can also download another new track from the latest album below, Blue Cassette.
Friendly Fires, oh how I’ve missed you so. Ed McFarlane (hands down, the best dancer in indie pop) & Co. are back with their new album, Pala, due out 16th May. Live Those Days Tonight is the first track to be released from the album. Definitely a bit more dancey.
TGIF – thank goodness it’s Friday – is all I can say this week. It’s now T minus 7 days for Electric Picnic and I can’t fecking wait. So for today’s On The Road To Electric Picnic With… pick I’ve decided to pick two artists (because it’s also Weekend Tunage day and we like to [...]
Its that time of year again. When everyone and anyone who’s involved in writing tries to sum up the year with list. And this year is extra special – its the end of a decade too, so there are lists galore on any website worth its salt. So why should The Clink be any different? [...]
