The name Ships may seem familiar – Chris posted about this new Dublin band and their super catchy tune ‘You’re Gonna Feel It’ a few weeks back, and since then a bit more info has been shared with us about the release of the song itself – which it deserves to be shared. Turns out it’s part of a limited double A-side 7″ vinyl release from Synth Eastwood, that will also feature fellow Dublin band I Am Cosmos and their track ‘Take What You Want’.
Synth Eastwood is a collaborative art group that has been knocking around Dublin for a while now. I remember attending a few of their art exhibitions back when I was living in Dublin, always a good time. This is their first foray into music and they’ve picked two mighty fine up-and-coming bands to start with.
Both the tracks have a definite dance-floor feel. Take a listen to the I Am Cosmos tune below, and Ships again after the jump. Launch party for the single release is being held at the Sugar Club on Friday 25th May (tkts are €10). Both bands will play on the night, along with DJ sets by David Kitt and Lil’ Dave.
The first 50 people in the door will receive a crisp new copy of the record with artwork supplied by John Cowhie. Bargin!

Electronic musician Nicolas Jaar is up to somthing quite interesting at the moment. I came across this article yesterday on Creative Review Blog, it highlighted a new music format that Nicolas Jaar and his label Clown & Sunset are pioneering.
Not Rome the actual city! The above video is for the track ‘Two Against One’ taken from the collaborative album Rome by Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi. The video was directed by Chris Milk and Anthony Francisco Shepperd.
At a loss for words to describe this, it’s just beautiful. Directed by Sean Pecknold.
It’s no secret that our main focus at The Clink is music, but another great love of mine is design and when the two combine together, well, that’s what inspires me.
There’s quite an interesting street/public art project going on around Dublin at the moment – They Are Us. A tribute to Dublin city: northside and southside, the visible and the secret, the good and the bad. It’s a collaboration between well know graffiti artist Maser and Dublin’s own Damien Dempsey – with Maser selecting sites, [...]
Happy April Fools Day. Pretty stupid post title, but too much effort to think of something super witty and funny. Something that’s not a joke though, is a bit of fun going on around Dublin tonight. Pecha Kucha Night 5 is taking place tonight in The Sugar Club. I’ve been to two of these and [...]
It’s no secret that I love all things animated, and ever better good animation + music = music video gold. Check out the video below for “Far Weathered Friends” by The Death Set. The track above is actually a remix, the original is called “Fair Weather Friends” and is by LA artist Daedelus, who just [...]
