If there is but one band that we whole-heartidily wish success in 2012, Clock Opera is the one. I’ve been a long time fan of the band, first falling in love with Guy Connelly’s various remixes and then witnessing Clock Opera grow into a fully flegded four piece band with an output of exciting original music.
Clock Opera have done things the right way, nothing has been rushed and they’ve taken the time to grow their craft and their intricate tunes. Last year’s ‘Belongings’ was one of my highlights of the year.
Their debut album is titled Ways to Forget, and will be released on 9th April. Ahead of this, the band are re-releasing ‘Once and For All’ as a single (it was slightly reworked for the album). The accompanying video (below) is the perfect tie in to the song. The affecting and poignant visuals bring the almost regretful lyrics to life in a beautiful way. If watching this clip doesn’t inspire you to get up and take on 2012 with full force then nothing will.
You can pre-order Ways to Forget on iTunes here. I’ve a feeling I’m going to spending a lot of time with this album in 2012.
