One of the best tunes I’ve heard this year! Well, as 2012 is less than 2 weeks old that’s not saying much, but this tune ‘Come Save Me‘ by former Lost Valentino, Jagwar Ma is pleasing me no end.
It’s starts with a Phil Spector-ish wall of sound drumbeat reminiscent of The Ronettes, Be my Baby. Then it kicks in with Beach Boysy verse, then from there it just drops into a little ‘Come and Save Me’ chorus line that throws me back to The La’s or The Charlatans. There’s bits of Beck and Surfer Blood about it too I think! Check it!
