The Sunday line-up has a nice balance of chilled out acts and some bands to keep your energy levels up. Pulp play the main stage as the retro headline act, Zola Jesus is a good alternative tho, on the Cosby Stage at the same time. As usual there is plenty to see, so here’s our picks:
Oh Land – Electric Arena @ 2.30pm
There’s something in the water in Scandinavia, producing a steady stream of talented female acts. Oh Land is a perfect example of this, I don’t actually think I’ve written about her properly yet, so consider this a taster, make sure to check her out live.
Everything Everything – Electric Arena @ 3.30pm
A band that didn’t make as much of a dent in 2010 as I thought they would, Everything Everything are an assault on the senses, it wasn’t immediate, but once I got into their album Man Alive, I was hooked. Give them a try, they’re bound to make your Sunday better.
Beirut – Main Stage @ 6.45pm
I’ve seen Beirut live once already this year. Zach Condon made me weak at the knees. Expect plenty of old classic, plus some new tunes off of The Rip Tide. Gypsy folk <3
I've neglected the Body & Soul stages a bit from our recos, so for the final day here's 3 acts worth checking out:
James Vincent McMorrow – Body & Soul, Main Stage @ 6.30pm
Heart wrenching vocals, James Vincent McMorrow is an extremely promising irish artist. Songs from his album Early In The Morning are perfectly suited to the Body & Soul setting.
Moths – Body & Soul, Love Letter Stage @ 10.45pm
Barely out of school, and well on the way in his career. Listening to Moths’ hazy electronic tunes is a fine way to spend your last night at the festival.
Austra – Body & Soul, Main Stage @ 1.20am
Flying the flag for Toronto at the festival, Austra are a band that have been riding on a wave of buzz for the last few months, it’s well deserved. With that voice, and those beats – expect uncontrollable dancing and swaying to ensue.
