TGIF – thank goodness it’s Friday – is all I can say this week. It’s now T minus 7 days for Electric Picnic and I can’t fecking wait. So for today’s On The Road To Electric Picnic With… pick I’ve decided to pick two artists (because it’s also Weekend Tunage day and we like to spoil you) that will really kick start your weekend.
LCD Soundsystem are due to play on Saturday night, and with three amazing albums behind them (but there may be more due), it plans to be an amazing set. It also means I’ve plenty of choice in my pick of tune, and I’ve picked a single from 2007 and the first single from their second album, Sound Of Silver – North American Scum.
My second pick comes from English electro-funk band Friendly Fires. With only one brilliant album under their belt – and it was Mercury Prize nominated too – we can’t be too far away from a follow up to the self-titled debut. They play at the Picnic on Sunday night.
