Weekend Tunage: Orphan Boy – Pop Song

This track was uncovered a couple of weeks ago by The Clink just before we headed off to Oxegen, and although we were already at fever pitch this indie dance gem just cranked it up another notch.

There’s something about it that just makes you want to jump up and down and shake your head (in slow motion like they do in mobile phone ads). Maybe it’s the spine tingling power of the hypnotic synth intro, or the video with lots of happy bouncy crowd shots and band camaraderie, or just the pure energy of it all put together into something that’s just really good.

Watch out for the album, Passion, Pain and Loyalty, coming out on the 2^nd August, but from early reports this tune is on it’s own in terms of quality, like an orphan boy on parent teachers night.
